How was your day so far? After fasting and ied? for me .. Alhamdulillah .. This year is very colorful, lots of exams in order to be able to withstand the lust and anger (-_-')
I often think, about the purpose of life, what is the real purpose in your life? most people will have very similar reasons .. to be a happy world and hereafter, to be success in life, to be happy with the one we love, to obtain mercy and blessings of Allah ... etc and I know it's good when we've a goal like that and somehow will give you the power to motivate themselves to be better.
So, are you actually depends on your purpose and will continue to compete with the others? Does that mean you jealous with other people and make your rivals? If jealousy makes you a better person, well…if it is…. I'm sorry because I didn't found the right words ....
I don't know about you, but for me to competing is a must. It is not necessarily with other people, our own self sometimes could be the biggest competitor. Frankly, I live my life competing with own self. I don't really care about other people who are competing with each other. for me, setting my own benchmark and passed through it is a success. If you are in the some think with me .. Have you ever felt that the benchmark actually never really exist? because once we have passed it, then we will set another benchmark witch higher than before. And will never ending process.
after a while I realized that sometimes I have to stop and appreciate. be happy with what we already have. stop competing ourself with anyone. Allah already set everything for us. And we never knew it was just a test from Allah if we are too busy setting a benchmark or compete with others. so stop. analyze .. and appreciate the things around us. for example, being rich is not the solution of all problems. some people may have a bit of money but their life is full with love of family. some people may have a little money, but they can still lead a successful life. Another example, always be the last in the class doesn't mean it is the end of your life. maybe it's time for you to be yourself and let yourself to do things that you really love. or perhaps, this is the last stage for you to continue to stand before you finally reach your ultimate success. well, good things come to those who are patient. doesn't it?
I am not said that we should completely stop competing. it's only for a while. short break to appreciate and smile. to fill the heart with small good things to keep in mind along the way to success.
